REA & binary analysis
AI for reverse engineering.
Use Abliteration's reduced-refusal models to analyze decompiled code, investigate malware, and review firmware. Keep REA and your analysis tools; choose a model API that supports the authorized work.
Claude refusing your REA workflow?
A coding agent can have access to the right tools and still stop when the model refuses the analysis. Try the authorized task with an Abliteration model, using your existing agent and tool setup.
Anthropic lists reverse-engineering malware among its Cyber Verification Program’s Defense Access uses. Access tier and request context matter; individual refusal reports do not establish a universal REA ban.

REA connects your coding agent to tools that inspect applications, native binaries, and runtime behavior. For native analysis, its documented engines include Ghidra, IDA, and Hopper.
REA gathers the evidence. Your agent uses a model to interpret it. Abliteration supplies the model API when your client supports a custom OpenAI- or Anthropic-compatible endpoint.

Understand decompiled code
Trace control flow, suggest function and variable names, and explain unfamiliar routines using the surrounding calls and references.
Analyze malware
Investigate suspicious functions, decode configuration formats, and turn findings into incident-response notes and detection ideas.
Review firmware and embedded software
Examine protocol handlers, input validation, and data flows in devices and embedded systems you're authorized to assess.
Recover interoperability details
Document file formats, message layouts, and application behavior for migration, maintenance, and interoperability work.
Make the analysis checkable.
Keep the evidence with the question
Include the function address, architecture, decompiler output, relevant disassembly, callers, and cross-references. State what you know and what is still uncertain.
Ask for findings you can check
Request references to specific instructions, branches, or call sites. Keep proposed names and types separate from observed behavior.
Verify before relying on the result
Check conclusions against the disassembly and, where appropriate, controlled runtime tests. Readable pseudocode and a confident explanation do not establish equivalent behavior.
Review this function using the supplied decompiler output and disassembly. Explain its inputs, branches, and side effects. Cite the addresses or instructions supporting each finding. Separate observations from hypotheses. Flag missing context and propose the next check before suggesting names or types.
Keep your tools. Choose your model.
Configure your client with the Abliteration base URL, API key, and model. Follow its compatibility guide for supported tool calling and request options. REA stays connected to your agent; no separate Abliteration REA plugin is required.

AI reverse engineering and REA: common questions.
What is REA in reverse engineering?
REA stands for Reverse Engineer Anything. It is an open-source toolkit that connects coding agents to tools for inspecting binaries, applications, and runtime behavior. Abliteration provides a model API; REA and your analysis tools provide the evidence.
Why does Claude refuse my REA or reverse-engineering task?
A model's cyber safeguards can block a task even when your intended analysis is legitimate. Behavior depends on the request, model, and access tier. Anthropic's Cyber Verification Program includes reverse-engineering malware in Defense Access. If your authorized task is refused, you can evaluate an Abliteration model on that task.
Can I use Abliteration with my existing agent?
Use a client that supports a custom OpenAI- or Anthropic-compatible model endpoint. Configure the Abliteration base URL, API key, and model, and keep REA or your other analysis tools connected to the agent. Check the client guide for supported features; there is no separate Abliteration REA plugin to install.
How do I get more reliable AI reverse-engineering results?
Give the model a bounded question with addresses, disassembly, decompiler output, and relevant references. Ask it to identify its evidence and uncertainties, then verify its conclusions against the program. Fewer refusals do not guarantee a correct analysis.
Are my reverse-engineering prompts used for training?
No. Model API prompts and outputs are not used to train our models and are not retained by default. See the data handling policy for details about operational records and retention settings.
Is Policy Gateway included with pay as you go?
Yes. Policy Gateway access is included with every plan, including pay as you go. Apply your organization's rules to requests and responses and review policy decision records.
