Developer is $20 per month with $20 in monthly usage credit and 2.5% off additional usage. Growth is $50 per month with $50 in monthly usage credit and 5% off additional usage. Scale is $200 per month with $200 in monthly usage credit and 10% off additional usage. Unused monthly usage credit does not expire. Enterprise pricing is customized for dedicated capacity, routing, contracts, compliance review, and support.
Is there a free tier?
You can start with a one-credit free preview and no credit card. Sign in to use the Playground or API, inspect the available models, and add prepaid credit or a monthly plan when you are ready.
Can I use the API without a monthly plan?
Yes. A monthly subscription is optional. You can use the API with prepaid credits on the Free plan, with Free-plan model, media, and rate limits. API keys, projects, and auto-reload are available without a subscription.
How is API usage billed?
Usage follows the published model rates for input, cached input, and output tokens. Your balance pays those usage charges. An active monthly plan applies its usage discount before the charge is deducted, so the monthly usage credit and any prepaid credit go further. Cached input is charged at 10% of the selected model's standard input rate, and web search is billed separately at $8 per 1,000 searches plus token usage.
Do prepaid credits expire?
No. Prepaid credits do not expire and are separate from monthly plan billing. Listed top-ups start at $20, and the console accepts a custom prepaid purchase from $1. Unused monthly usage credit also does not expire.
What do the monthly plans include?
Developer includes $20 in monthly usage credit, 2.5% off additional usage, Tier 1 rate limits, standard models, and remote HTTPS image inputs. Growth includes $50 in monthly usage credit, 5% off additional usage, Tier 2 rate limits, higher-capacity models, and larger image limits. Scale includes $200 in monthly usage credit, 10% off additional usage, Tier 3 rate limits, and priority support. Each plan adds its usage credit every billing cycle, and unused credit does not expire.
Do prepaid purchases increase my rate limits?
Yes. Your effective rate-limit tier is the higher of your active subscription tier and the spend tier earned from lifetime net payments. A Free-plan account reaches Tier 1 after $20 in total payments, Tier 2 after $50, and Tier 3 after $200. Refunds or disputes can reduce the lifetime net paid amount. The Console Limits page shows the tier and limits currently applied to your organization.
Are API keys, projects, or auto-reload charged separately?
No. There is no separate fee for API keys, projects, or enabling auto-reload. Auto-reload buys the prepaid amount you configure when your balance reaches the threshold you choose. Model usage and web search are billed at the published rates, and applicable taxes may be added at checkout.

Enterprise is designed for organizations that need dedicated throughput, custom model or regional routing, volume pricing, security onboarding, custom contracts and compliance review, priority support, or Policy Gateway governance.
